Compare Eternal Fire and Eternal Blue/Black 16mm resin poly sets on color mood, glitter blend, and price so you can pick the right set for your table.
Quick answer
Choose Eternal Fire if you want a warm, glittering set that stands out on the table; choose Eternal Blue/Black if you prefer a cooler, darker look and want to save a little at checkout.
What actually differs between the two sets
Both are 16mm resin polyhedral sets with the same seven-dice lineup, so the real decision comes down to color mood and price. Eternal Fire leans warm, while Eternal Blue/Black leans cool and dark. Neither set is inherently better for gameplay; the difference is visual and budgetary.
Why warm versus cool matters at the table
Warm dice tend to read as energetic and draw attention, which can suit a character who is bold or a campaign with a heroic tone. Cool, dark dice tend to feel calmer and more understated, which can fit a stealthy character or a grittier campaign. If your table already has a lot of bright terrain or colorful character sheets, a darker set may keep your dice easy to spot without competing for attention.
The glitter trade-off
Both sets blend resins with a mix of glitters, so neither is a plain matte look. The practical trade-off is that glitter can make numbers slightly harder to read under low light. If you often play in dim rooms or roll on dark surfaces, check the contrast between the numbers and the glitter before committing. If readability is your top priority, a simpler high-contrast set may serve you better than either Eternal option.
Price and value
At catalog prices, Eternal Blue/Black is the lower-cost option, while Eternal Fire costs a bit more. Both are discounted from the same comparison price, so the gap is modest. If you are buying your first set or adding a backup, the Blue/Black set leaves more budget for a tray or a second set. If the warm look is the reason you are buying, the small difference is unlikely to change your mind.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Color mood: Pick Eternal Fire for a warm, attention-grabbing look; pick Eternal Blue/Black for a cool, darker look that stays understated. Match the set to your character or campaign tone before comparing price.
- Price: Eternal Blue/Black is the lower-cost set at catalog price, so it is the easier choice if you are budgeting for accessories. If the warm color is not a must-have, the Blue/Black set leaves more room for a dice tray.
- Glitter and readability: Both sets use glitter-infused resin, which can reduce number contrast in low light; check the photos for number legibility if you play in dim rooms. If readability is critical, consider a high-contrast set instead of either glitter option.
