Compare Dragon Scale Antique Copper with Red Enamel metal dice and Ancient Copper resin dice: weight, durability, price, and which RPG player they suit best.
Quick answer
Choose the Dragon Scale Antique Copper with Red Enamel metal set for a heavy, premium feel and lasting durability. Pick the Ancient Copper resin set for a budget-friendly, lightweight option that still looks great.
Material and weight differences
The Dragon Scale set is made from solid zinc with a shiny-polished nickel plating, giving it a substantial weight that many tabletop gamers enjoy. In contrast, the Ancient Copper set is made from resin, making it much lighter and easier to carry in bulk or for players who prefer less heft in their dice bag.
Durability and rolling surface
Metal dice are more durable against chipping but can damage tables or other dice if rolled on hard surfaces. The manufacturer recommends using a padded dice tray with the Dragon Scale set. Resin dice are more forgiving on surfaces and less likely to cause damage, but they may chip or crack over time with heavy use.
Price and value
The Dragon Scale Antique Copper set is priced at USD 27.99 (catalog comparison price USD 39.99), reflecting its metal construction and enamel detailing. The Ancient Copper resin set costs only USD 10.19 (catalog comparison price USD 14.99), offering a significant cost saving for players on a budget or those who want multiple sets.
